My passion for photography did not start at a young age. No relative ever put a 35mm in my youthful hands and told me to go forth and create. If you would have told me ten years ago that this would be my career path I would have probably stared blankly at you before rolling away on my skateboard. It wasn't until 2004 that I discovered my calling, when I found myself exploring and wandering camera-in-hand. I had always felt the need to express myself artistically, and creating through a lens just felt right. For the past six years this has been my vocation, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
I'm a twenty-six year old, Canadian born, Iowa raised photographer who constantly strives to create interesting images that people want to spend time inside. Whether it's capturing images in quiet natural light or working to construct the perfect photograph with four flashes and a reflector, I'm always chasing the visions in my head. Over the past few years I have seen my personal vision solidify and as I look back I am encouraged at how far I have come creatively. But the beauty of this art form is this: no matter how far you've come you can always get better. That's my goal every day, every shoot, one image at a time.
